Chapter Ride to Rainbow Springs

What a great day to ride! Summertime, overcast, comfortable and great women to share the day with.

Holly lead the ride to Rainbow Springs. Sonja, Laura Lea, Lorraine, Jo, Lynn and Arlene left our new meeting place around 10:15 a.m. The skies were cloudy, which made the air temperature perfect, no sun in our eyes, no heat coming up from the pavement, no love bugs, just the right temp to clear the cobwebs from our minds.

Rainbow Springs is a State Park. We easily parked, grabbed our bathing suits, and headed for the entrance. It is a beautiful park. The water was crystal clear. You could even see the water bubbling up from the bottom of the waters floor where the spring sends up the 72 degree water. I have never seen that before. Fish, turtles, waterfalls, and nature was ours to enjoy in a beautiful setting.
Holly, Laura Lea, Lynn and Arlene were the brave souls to take the plunge. I DO mean a plunge. There was no beach, just a dock to jump in. The water was cold, but so refreshing. We took a walk through the park to see waterfalls and nature at its best.
On the way back, we stopped for something to eat at an Italian Restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food and there was plenty. We parted ways around 6 - 6:30 p.m. It was a great day and I thank Holly for an enjoyable and memorable ride. - Arlene
Thank You to Sonja for these scenic photos, and to Arlene for the article!
And of course, Holly for all her preparations planning this fun ride!
